Eerie similarity to the poorly-though-out GM factory in Hamtramck back in the 80's-complete w/ poorly considered purchasing of automated equipment that painted itself and destroyed the product that it was supposed to be assembling.
Remarkable as to how the creaky cold-war relics of the US Defense-Industrial complex are recapitulating the failures of late Soviet manufacturing (complete with fantastic predictions of success by the nomenklatura!); but at least the Russians would've had the good sense to just build a bigger 1950s forging facility if they needed more shells.
